On behalf of the organizing committee I would like to welcome you to the 5^th Arab Neonatology Forum Conference being held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Gulf International Convention Centre from 15-17 January 2008. The conference is being hosted by Bahrain Pediatric Association and Arab Neonatology Forum. We would like to extend our gratitude to our eminent speakers coming from overseas, the Arab world and the GCC to share their experience in the field of Neonatology with us.

We hope that the conference will be an opportunity not only to exchange information and knowledge, but also to get to know the hospitable people of Bahrain and learn about the rich history and ancient civilizations of the country. Bahrain was indeed the site of the lost civilization of Dilmun dating from the third millennium BC, often refereed to as the fabled Garden of Eden and described as “paradise” in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
